  | CUTTING CONSTRUCTION WASTE & INCREASING REUSE - PRESENTATIONS NOW AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD
 The proceedings and presentations from Why Waste's recent consultation event for its new development - A Buidling Material Reuse Centre in the Leeds/Bradford Area are now available to download. The event was held on 30th March 2009 with the financial support of Resource Efficiency Yorkshire. It was hosted by the Environment Agency and featured presentations from WRAP, WasteWise and Project partners followed by workshops discussing key themes of construction waste reuse. A good turnout by a cross sector audience made the event a success. Thanks to everyone for their support.

  | CUTTING CONSTRUCTION WASTE & INCREASING REUSE - 30TH MARCH 2009 FREE EVENT
 Why Waste is working with Construction Leeds and Leeds Renew to establish a social enterprise based on reusing building materials. This will have 3 main strands – a retail outlet (ReIY centre), training in construction and development of “Space of Waste” – innovation in the reuse of materials in small buildings and refurbishment.
You are invited to attend our consultation event Cutting Construction Waste & Increasing Reuse on 30th March 2009. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about the initiative and about the practicalities of reusing construction waste.   | 2ND ANNUAL EASTEX AWARDS CEREMONY - HONORED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERS IN RE-USE ACROSS THE REGION.
 Seven outstanding organizations were honored for their achievements in reuse of business resources this at the Eastex Annual Conference this week. Will Pope, Chair of the EEDA presented awards to: Compass Peterborough, Aid to Hospitals, ADAS, Blundeston Prison, Virgin Money, Deaf Blind UK and Waste Not Want Not. Runners up included: GY Woodstock, REEStore, Wine society, Pineapple Store, Osborne’s and SDC Builders. Andy Walker , Eastex coordinator for Norfolk explained, "The Eastex team were delighted to team up with Envirowise to host our second awards ceremony. The speakers and award winners inspired other regional business to reduce waste in their workplace future. We look forward to the knock on results next year." The conference took place at the Forest Centre in Bedfordshire and was sponsored by Norfolk County Council and Envirowise.
